6/15/2007 Wireless Sensor Network ReadyFinally the whole week-debug was finished under the endeavour of me and another two senior scientists, and the technical support from Crossbow, which produced a terrible manual providing misleading instructions. Under numerous attempts and assumptions an effective approach finally got close to me and after all, the ex-unstable system turned into an amazing application in our sample building which arose every occupant's applaud. The 26 high-tech wireless sensors and a gateway got their suitable accommodation throughout the typical office building and the reliable data recording started 2:00pm, 15-Jun-2007, GMT+10:00 time zone J (When the database was reset, and all corresponding data seemed reasonable)… What a splendid day! And there will be a tough task placed on the gateway and the new dell desktop in my CSIRO office, which will never be switched off as they are serving now, as servers … My Loyal Servants…!
Truly what I’ve found exiting from the technology, is that no wire or wiring is needed and those small sensors, which only use two AA batteries, could last one-year long under proper deployment! And surely an anticipation can be made: In future building automation systems this technology will be dominant, which will replace all the wired controllers, saving huge cost on wires and cables and creating a much more reliable transmission route!
But I would hope the debugging never ends, which gives me a good excuse to postpone writing the technical reports … Everything needs a start now: a conference paper, a report, and a chapter of dissertation ~ Nevertheless, the large cost on those hardware deserves that ~ Along as Memory 2.0 is approaching an end after one and a half months revision and test, the old lawyer and politician, who owns an extremely big house, started to worrying about the marketing of Memory 2.0. Who knows his fantasy of making a fortune from this little soft is realistic or ridiculous! Though I would hope so, judging from his wide social connections and, which is the point, I also own the copyright! ~~ |
